Date Set for Town Sale

August 3, 2024

The 2024 town sale date has been set for Saturday, August 3rd from 9AM-4PM. All residents in New Lexington are encouraged to dust off their treasures, clean out their closets, and set up a yard/garage sale on their property! This date is set for rain or shine.

Perry County Children’s Services is accepting donations of hygiene items for children and young adults entering foster care. City Hall at 215 S. Main St. is just one of the many locations items may be dropped off at. Lobby hours at City Hall are 8AM-4PM Monday through Friday.

🇺🇸 FOURTH OF JULY SERVICE SCHEDULE 🇺🇸
In most areas, Win Waste trucks will not be running on Thursday, July 4th. Here is how the Fourth of July holiday may impact your waste collection service.
⭐RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMERS*:
If your pickup day is Monday-Wednesday, pickup will not be impacted during the week of July Fourth. Thursday and Friday customers will experience a one-day delay.
⭐COMMERCIAL CUSTOMERS*:
If your pickup day is Monday-Wednesday, pickup will not be impacted during the week of July Fourth. If your pickup day is Thursday (holiday), they will make every attempt to service you prior to the Thursday holiday. If that’s not possible, they will pick up on Friday, July 5. Friday and Saturday customers will not be impacted.
❗*PLEASE NOTE❗: There will be some exceptions for customers that WILL be serviced on Thursday, July 4th. Email & call notifications have been sent with your specific service information. Tips to Beat the Heat

A heat wave is expected this week as the first official day of summer approaches. Follow these tips to stay safe during the extrememe temperatures:

1. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!💧: Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you’re not thirsty.
2. Seek Shade and Cool Places🌳: Stay indoors during peak heat hours (10 AM – 4 PM) and find air-conditioned spaces if possible.
3. Wear Light Clothing👕: Choose loose, light-colored clothing to help keep your body cool.
4. Use Sunscreen🧴: Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
5. Limit Strenuous Activities🏃‍♂️: Avoid heavy exercise during the hottest part of the day.
6. Check on Vulnerable Neighbors🏠: Make sure the elderly, young children, and pets are keeping cool and hydrated.
7. Cool Showers and Baths🚿: Take cool showers or baths to lower your body temperature.
8. Eat Light🍉: Opt for light, easy-to-digest foods like fruits and vegetables.
