POSITION DESCRIPTION
Police Operations Manager
General Description:
The Police Operations Manager works under the general supervision and direction of the Police Chief and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Police Department, Property Room, and Communication Center. The Police Operations Manager will direct and supervise employees designated to each division and report any breach of discipline or neglect of duty by any employee to the Police Chief. The Police Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of a police department, promoting public safety, and maintaining positive relationships within the department and the Village of New Lexington.
Job Duties:
- Maintains inventory and ordering of department supplies
- Data analysis and performance measures
- LEADS TAC and LASO Officer
- OHLEG Administrator
- Policy development and compliance
- Receives, processes, and transports evidence
- Attends and conducts meetings as pertaining to the Police Department
- Any other duties as related to this position
- Acts as a liaison for communications with the IT team, LEADS, EForce (CAD), BCI (Evidence Division), and other necessary officials and departments
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be able to acquire and maintain LEADS and NCIC certification
- Adherence to all Federal, State, Village, and Police laws, rules, and regulations
- Two years experience in a management position is preferred, but not required
