Use Caution When Salting Sidewalks

As winter weather approaches, please be advised that magnesium chloride products are NOT recommended on the sidewalks along Main Street. Calcium chloride, while still harmful to the concrete, is the best solution for de-icing. Please DO NOT OVER-SALT areas; place as small amount as possible. There should not be sand or gravel texture on the sidewalk after salting. Thank you for helping to take care of the sidewalks so they may be enjoyed for many years to come!
